The Opportunity

TrueCar is seeking a high-impact, revenue-driven sales professional to accelerate dealer network growth and portfolio expansion. The Business Development Manager is accountable for revenue growth, relationship management, dealer acquisition, and territory expansion within an assigned portfolio. Reporting to the Director, Dealer Services, this role is responsible for penetrating dealer groups, closing market coverage gaps, and delivering sustained, measurable revenue growth.

Responsibilities

  • Own and exceed assigned revenue and growth targets.
  • Drive revenue through dealer group penetration, dealer acquisition, and territory expansion.
  • Serve as the primary growth partner and executive relationship owner within assigned accounts.
  • Identify and close incremental revenue opportunities across both new and existing dealer partners.
  • Develop and execute a focused territory growth plan aligned to market coverage objectives.
  • Build and maintain a healthy forward-looking pipeline aligned to revenue goals.
  • Establish and strengthen executive-level relationships with Dealer Principals, General Managers, and group leadership.
  • Lead negotiations, structure proposals, and close agreements that drive measurable growth.
  • Partner with Account Management and Dealer Performance teams to ensure successful onboarding and revenue realization.
  • Maintain disciplined forecasting, pipeline visibility, and CRM accuracy within Salesforce.

Requirements

We're open to hiring someone in the Denver, CO, or Seattle, WA area. In this role, you'll work a territory that includes CO, MT, ND, NE, OR, SD, WA, and WY.

Expertise

  • Proven track record of exceeding revenue targets in a growth-focused sales role.
  • Demonstrated success in generating revenue growth and expanding existing portfolios.
  • Experience owning executive-level relationships and driving commercial growth within assigned accounts.
  • Experience working with multi-location dealership groups or automotive retail organizations preferred.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence, negotiate, and close at senior levels.
  • Experience selling SaaS, digital marketplace, advertising, or automotive technology solutions preferred.
  • Strong territory planning, prospecting, and pipeline management skills.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM tools.
  • High integrity, strong work ethic, and self-starter mentality.
  • Able and willing to travel domestically by car, using personal vehicle, for daily travel, and by airplane or car for overnight trips up to 75% of the time.
