Business Development Manager, Sales

About the role
Contribute to the creation and leadership of the MVS strategy and drive, coach, and manage teams to achieve complete customer satisfaction and profitable growth.
Responsibilities
- Work in partnership with the Business Line Manager to develop and execute the MVS strategy.
- Create and lead initiatives to improve MVS strategy execution and personnel development.
- Directly supervise Key Account Managers (KAMs), focusing on coaching and mentoring to drive success.
- Lead our plant coverage strategy in alignment with Strategic Partnership Selling (SPS), including developing elite competitors, creating win/win strategic partnerships, securing plant decision/preference in projects, and generating incremental revenue.
- Partner with the Business Line Manager to create and execute annual MVS Business Line initiatives (e.g., strategic initiatives, National Sales Meeting, Sales team business planning process).
- Establish leadership, management style, and culture to maximize employee satisfaction in a win/win partnership.
- Understand P&L and balance sheet to optimize financial results and execution resiliency.
- Regularly travel to all areas of the US/Canada to assist in maximizing the customer experience while working with KAMs on development and strategy execution (travel/overnight expected).
- Serve as an additional resource for segment coverage, project acquisition, or other areas requiring special attention; be willing to “jump in as needed.”
Requirements
- 7+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- 3+ years’ experience managing people in a direct capacity
- Bachelor’s degree required (business-related degree preferred)

Location
This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our Auburn Hills, MI or Plymouth, MI offices.
