The Regional Business Development Manager - Commercial Insurance is responsible for generating new business opportunities by developing relationships through inside and outside sales activities such as networking, lead generation, social media, and participation in trade associations.

Responsibilities

  • Dedicate 75% of time to the assigned region and 25% outside the region where customers are present.
  • Identify, nurture, and develop new and existing business relationships to increase referral opportunities.
  • Locate, present to, and sell BluSky to new prospects.
  • Work with a defined list of targets managed through Salesforce.
  • Maintain membership and involvement in targeted associations.
  • Prepare and present sales proposals.
  • Meet sales activity KPIs through client/prospect meetings, events, and outreach.
  • Document all business development activities in Salesforce daily.
  • Achieve yearly individual sales goals.
  • Plan association involvement levels and budgets with leadership.
  • Participate in and represent BluSky at tradeshows, golf tournaments, and promotional events, including after-hours activities.
  • Become and remain proficient on BluSky's services and associated terminology.
  • Adhere to company employment standards and Best Practices.
  • Provide the highest level of internal and external customer service.
  • Contribute positively to the BluSky culture and community.
  • Perform all other duties or projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Business Development experience preferred.
  • Ability to attend networking functions 2–4 evenings per week.
  • Intermediate-level Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience inputting and tracking sales-related data into a CRM system.
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Outgoing, driven, tenacious, and team-oriented attitude.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred.

Travel

Occasional travel, including some out-of-area and overnight travel for training or meetings.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Noise level in the work environment can range from quiet to significantly loud.
  • Regularly lift and/or move between 25–50 pounds.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle material, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
  • Regularly move and walk around the office.
