Essential Duties And Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: The Business Development Manager – Motorcycle, Powersports and Scooters is responsible for driving profitable growth within the North American OE mobility market by identifying new business opportunities and managing strategic customer accounts. This role leads business development activities from early customer engagement through product launch while serving as the primary commercial contact for assigned OEM customers. Responsibilities include account planning, revenue growth, forecasting, pricing strategy, contract negotiations, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver customer-focused solutions and achieve long-term business objectives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following responsibilities are essential for the successful performance of the Mobility Powersports Business Development Manager role. Other tasks may be assigned, as necessary. Develop and execute business development strategies that drive profitable growth in the North American Motorcycle, Powersports, and Scooter OE market, including localized product roadmaps and strategic growth initiatives.Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities by working with customers from early specification through product launch while serving as the Voice of the Customer within Gates.Manage assigned OEM customer accounts, including account planning, revenue growth, forecasting, pricing strategy, contract negotiations, and long-term relationship management.Collaborate with engineering, product management, operations, and global commercial teams to align product offerings with customer requirements and ensure successful program execution.Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to identify new product opportunities, optimize pricing strategies, and support long-term business planning.Develop strategic partnerships with key customers, suppliers, and industry organizations to strengthen Gates' market position and expand business opportunities.Support commercialization of new products by providing market insights, customer feedback, and technical guidance while helping develop sales and marketing tools that support customer growth. Regional Sales & Account Management (40%) Drive OE specifications and revenue growth with assigned North American OEM customers.Develop executive and working-level customer relationships.Manage commercial performance, account plans, and business reviews. Business Development & Strategy (30%) Identify and pursue new business opportunities.Develop go-to-market strategies and commercial plans.Lead pricing, negotiations, and strategic partnerships. Technical & Commercial Support (20%) Support product positioning through application knowledge, customer training, and development of sales tools.Collaborate with engineering to address market and application needs. Product Development (10%) Support new product development and launches by translating customer requirements into business opportunities. Requirements And Preferred Skills Proven success in business development, key account management, and commercial negotiations within an OEM environment.Strong relationship-building and executive communication skills.Experience developing account strategies, revenue forecasts, pricing models, and growth plans.Ability to lead cross-functional and global teams to achieve business objectives.Knowledge of motorcycles, scooters, powersports, or related mobility markets preferred.Understanding of product development, manufacturing, and supply chain processes.Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems. TRAVEL: Domestic travel within NA is expected to be up to 40% of the time to visit customers and Gates facilities. Occasional international travel (up to 10%) to other company facilities or customers may be required.
