Business Development Manager, Hyperscale Line of Business
About the Role
We are seeking a high-caliber Business Development Manager to join our team, focused on managing and expanding our footprint within the Hyperscale and Cloud Service Provider (CSP) market. This is a high-impact customer-facing role that combines technical hardware knowledge with operational excellence to support some of the world's largest data center customers. The ideal candidate understands the unique cadence of the data storage industry—where hardware lifecycles, lead times, and capacity planning are critical to customer success.
We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara office in compliance with company policies, unless you are on PTO, work travel, or other approved leave.
Responsibilities
- Hyperscale Account Management: Act as the primary operational partner for large-scale accounts. Manage day-to-day requests, track deliverables, and ensure our products meet the rigorous deployment schedules of hyperscale clients. Be responsible for complex opportunity management, tracking multi-year hardware forecasts, and building reporting that provides visibility into the hyperscale pipeline.
- Internal Cross-Functional Alignment: Coordinate between Supply Chain, Engineering, Product Management, Business Operations, and Finance to ensure technical specifications and delivery timelines align with customer requirements. Bridge the gap between "what was sold" and "what is being built."
- Partner Management: Coordinate with server ODM and rack integration partners to ensure customer success.
- Strategic Business Development: Proactively identify and pursue new commercial opportunities while nurturing and growing existing client partnerships.
Requirements
- Hardware Sales/Operations: Experience in the hardware or semiconductor sector is essential. Knowledge of NAND, SSD, HDD, or server architecture is highly preferred.
- Hyperscale Experience: An understanding of how "The Big Five" and other CSPs operate—including their procurement cycles and large-scale deployment hurdles—is a significant plus. Experience with server ODM / rack integrators is also a plus.
- Program Management & Operations: Experience working with these functions is vital. Ability to track long-tail projects with dependencies (e.g., NPI phases, product lifecycles). A background in Ops or Program Management is a plus.
- CRM Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Salesforce (SFDC). Comfortable managing complex data sets and understanding how sales data impacts manufacturing forecasts.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to track and manage demand, supply, and other key business metrics, and to synthesize key information for internal and external stakeholders.
- Relationship Building: Ability to develop strong relationships across diverse personas at varied seniority levels, including procurement, engineering, quality, operations, and product management.
- Strong Communication: Effective written and verbal communication, and ability to manage complex meetings.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a quantitative discipline.
