Business Development Manager – Corporate Group Sales
About the role
The Business Development Manager – Corporate Group Sales will drive new corporate group business to Hyatt Regency DFW by identifying, prospecting, soliciting, and converting new accounts within targeted market segments. This role is designed as a proactive “hunter” sales position focused on generating incremental revenue, penetrating competitor accounts, and expanding Hyatt Regency DFW’s market share across the DFW Metroplex and key feeder markets.
Responsibilities
- Drive new corporate group business through proactive prospecting, cold calling, networking, outside sales appointments, and strategic market penetration efforts.
- Identify and target competitor hotel accounts and actively pursue opportunities to shift market share and group business to Hyatt Regency DFW.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans focused on acquiring new corporate, and meeting planner accounts within designated vertical markets and geographic territories.
- Achieve and exceed established monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue, room night, and business development goals established by the Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Maintain an aggressive sales activity schedule including prospecting calls, outside appointments, site inspections, client entertainment, trade shows, networking events, and business travel.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified group opportunities with a strong emphasis on new account acquisition and incremental revenue generation.
- Conduct market research and gather competitive intelligence to identify emerging business opportunities, account movement, and market trends impacting group demand.
- Collaborate closely with Sales Managers, Revenue Management, and Events teams to maximize conversion opportunities and optimize total hotel revenue.
- Prepare customized proposals, presentations, and sales strategies that position Hyatt Regency DFW as the preferred destination for corporate meetings, conferences, and group travel.
- Attend major industry trade shows, networking events, client functions, and market appointments to actively promote Hyatt Regency DFW and generate qualified business leads.
- Develop strong relationships with meeting planners, corporate travel managers, third-party intermediaries, and key decision-makers to increase market visibility and drive repeat business.
- Maintain accurate account management, trace systems, and sales activity documentation within Envision and Hyatt CRM platforms in accordance with Hyatt standards.
- Remain highly knowledgeable regarding competitor products, pricing strategies, renovations, market positioning, and sales initiatives to effectively position Hyatt Regency DFW in the marketplace.
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of hotel sales experience with a strong focus on group sales, corporate business development, or outside sales.
- Proven track record of generating new business and successfully converting competitive accounts within the hospitality industry.
- Strong understanding of the corporate group, meetings, and events marketplace, preferably within the DFW market.
- Demonstrated ability to prospect, negotiate, close business, and build long-term client relationships.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and develop strategic sales plans.
- Highly motivated self-starter with strong organizational, time management, and follow-up skills.
- Experience utilizing hotel sales systems and CRM platforms including Envision, Delphi, Lanyon, Cvent, or similar systems preferred.
- Ability to travel for sales missions, trade shows, client appointments, and networking events as needed.
- Professional presence with the ability to represent Hyatt Regency DFW at a high level within the marketplace.

This position is designed as a highly revenue-focused business development role with strong earning potential tied directly to performance and production. The Business Development Manager will receive a competitive base salary complemented by an aggressive incentive and commission structure tied to: New business generation, Group revenue production, Booked room nights, Competitive account acquisition, Incremental business growth, Achievement of monthly and annual sales goals.
