Position Summary

Aid in securing new work for Southland by managing accounts and overseeing marketing efforts.

Position Details

  • Create positive relationships and maintain regular contact with assigned accounts.
  • Facilitate the development of the business plan and budget, including new work contract negotiations and future work potential.
  • Ensure alignment with Southland’s overall business plan and market strategy.
  • Meet with clients and staff to discuss business needs and capabilities.
  • Create and deliver high-quality presentations explaining Southland’s services and capabilities.
  • Evaluate client needs and resources to determine feasibility of projects.
  • Participate in local marketing organizations and lead staff in developing marketing skills.
  • Coordinate RFP responses and follow-up interviews with the Director of MEP Construction.
  • Notify supervisor of sales activities and proposal/bid submission timelines.
  • Identify and manage new work leads, including follow-up, record-keeping, and information distribution.
  • Participate in in-house planning sessions and promote the MEP Construction group.
  • Communicate potential opportunities to the appropriate person and engage in cross-departmental collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Four-year degree in relevant field, emphasizing business and marketing (or equivalent technical training/experience)
  • Minimum 5 years’ construction-related experience, including 3 years in marketing/estimating positions
  • Thorough understanding of Southland’s policies, procedures, and capabilities
  • Outstanding team-building and leadership skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong negotiation abilities
  • Desire and capability to make “cold calls”
