About the Role
Medisca is a global company leveraging strong partnerships to serve healthcare professionals across diverse wellness disciplines. The Business Development Executive (BDE) - Outside Sales focuses primarily on prospecting new accounts, cross-selling and upselling existing accounts while servicing and maintaining accounts/business. You will be the alternative point of contact for customer sales, daily inquiries, and business concerns, with a focus on growing the Medisca brand in both animal and human compounding.
Territory: North Carolina and Kentucky. Candidate must be based in North Carolina or Kentucky.
Responsibilities
- Search for potential clients, visit medical complexes and healthcare professionals, and obtain referrals.
- Identify pharmacies (non-compounders/compounders) and successfully convert their business to Medisca.
- Increase Medisca’s share of existing accounts.
- Leverage existing healthcare compounding prescribers to increase Medisca's brand.
- Identify healthcare professionals and educate them on compounding to increase scripts.
- Encourage collaboration between physicians, pharmacists, and Medisca.
- Attain monthly sales objectives and monitor profit margins.
- Analyze territory trends and identify opportunities.
- Regularly track and increase pharmacist business.
- Follow up with customers on sales and product availability via inbound and outbound phone/email.
- Suggest new revenue sources and products.
- Ensure client data and calls are kept relevant and current in systems.
- Proactively follow up with clients to ensure they always have the support they need.
- Cold call prospective customers and determine opportunities to create business.
- Research new potential client options and follow up on referrals from existing clients.
- Open new accounts and support onboarding.
- Work collaboratively with the Account Executive to discuss existing accounts and strategize on increasing business.
- Inform the Account Executive of the planning cycle to maximize synergies and account contact.
- Provide leads and referrals to visit.
- Travel for client visits, tradeshows, training, and other events (80% of the time, including flights, hotels, and driving).
Requirements
- College or University degree.
- Sales or Science background an asset.
- Experience in both animal and human compounding.
- Experience as a pharmacy technician, knowledge of compounding, or representative in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience in a sales role.
- Proven abilities in discovering opportunities, developing strategies, and closing sales.
- Effective organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Memorable, dynamic, and animated personality.
- Excellent communication and listening skills; fluent English (written & oral) required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook) required.
