About the role

The Business Development Executive plays a crucial role in generating new business for the company through targeted approaches and coordinated cross-selling strategies. This position involves working closely with industry sector leaders and marketing department colleagues to develop and execute an organized, holistic, and client-focused strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Leads business development planning and activities for key industry sector, practice area, and office teams.
  • Identifies areas for expanded services offerings to existing clients and coordinates follow-on activities with the industry sector.
  • Develops and manages a proactive and organized sales process and pipeline, tracking achievement against strategic objectives and business plan.
  • Ensures close coordination and collaboration with marketing colleagues to promote integrated support to business development efforts.
  • Participates in increasing the company's visibility in target industry sectors and markets through networking, holding leadership roles in influential organizations, and developing high-value opportunities and business connections.
  • Provides sales and business development coaching and occasional formal training to selected SAEs & AMs, assisting them in meeting agreed-upon goals toward becoming more effective in sales techniques and client relations.
  • Gathers intelligence on emerging market and industry trends to provide attorneys with an understanding of the competitive landscape and position the company for increased effectiveness in winning new business.
  • Fosters a business development culture that embraces a strategic, proactive, and client-centric approach in assisting SAEs & AMs with identifying, actively pursuing, and closing new business opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 5+ years of business development/sales experience.
  • Strong business acumen and an understanding of major industry sector trends.
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation/communication skills.
  • Interpersonal and leadership skills to work closely with senior executives on a routine basis.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to quickly develop rapport and gain respect at all levels of an organization.
  • Extensive experience and proven success with formulating, implementing, and sustaining client development efforts, and in building/expanding client relationships.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and self-motivated, with a team-oriented attitude.
  • Prioritize organizational skills and a history of teamwork.

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • PBM / Pharmacy / Health industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Hospital industry experience strongly preferred.
