About the Role
The BD Director's (West Coast) role is to develop new sales and enhance customer service to existing clients, for Almac Sciences' services within agreed west coast territory / client base.
Responsibilities
- Identify potential clients, visit client sites and periodically host clients at Almac's site(s).
- Present Almac Sciences' capabilities and value proposition leading to receipt of CDAs and RFPs for relevant Almac Sciences services.
- Represent Almac at relevant Industry Trade Shows and Conferences and provide reports of relevant activity and feedback on conference value.
- Facilitate the preparation of competitive proposals for RFPs, including clear agreement on deliverables, budget and timeline, provide compelling presentation of proposals to customers, and negotiate modification if necessary to lead to contract and PO wins.
- Monitor delivery of project to ensure customer satisfaction and mediate any issues between technical team and customer if necessary.
- Monitor industry trends and provide strategic guidance to management on offerings and potential areas of expansion / growth to better serve market demands.
- Agree with financial and personal performance targets with Senior Management and maintain all activities within these agreed objectives.
- Provide reports to BD management on customer visits, proposals, contracts status and forecast of activity to track progress against annual financial targets. Use appropriate database programs (Salesforce).
Qualifications
Required Experience / Education:
- Bachelor's degree in pharmaceutical science, life science or physical science.
- 5 years experience within CMO business development environment.
- Demonstrable working knowledge of Pharma / Biotech sector in US.
- Demonstrated success in developing the customer base, closing sales and delivering on financial goals.
Preferred Experience / Education:
- Advanced degree (PhD) in Chemistry or Scientific Discipline.
- 5-15 years sales experience within a small molecule API CDMO workplace.
