Business Analyst, Integrated Demand Center, AWS Marketing, IDC Analytics
About the role
The IDC Analytics team is looking for a strong, analytically minded Business Analyst to own end-to-end analytics that drive AWS Marketing’s demand generation strategy. In this role, you will design measurement frameworks, develop reports and dashboards, and deliver actionable insights that directly influence campaign investment decisions and pipeline outcomes. You will serve as the connective tissue between marketing stakeholders and technical teams—translating complex business questions into structured analytical plans, building scalable reporting solutions, and ensuring that the right data reaches the right decision-makers at the right time.
The ideal candidate is comfortable operating independently, thrives on solving ambiguous analytical problems, and brings a passion for using data to drive marketing effectiveness at scale.
Responsibilities
- Own the design and delivery of analytics for one or more marketing workstreams (e.g., campaign measurement, channels analytics, pipeline attribution, or lead scoring)
- Build and maintain dashboards and automated reports in QuickSight, providing self-serve visibility to marketing partners
- Write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze large-scale marketing datasets
- Partner with marketing program managers and channel owners to translate business questions into structured analytical plans
- Author and own Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) that bridge the gap between marketers and technical teams—working with D:SE (Data Science & Engineering) and S&O (Strategy & Operations) to build and enhance performance dashboards
- Leverage AI tools (such as Kiro IDE, Amazon Quick, and MCP integrations) to accelerate analytical workflows, automate repetitive reporting, and enhance data exploration
- Build AI-powered automations and lightweight applications for data validation, report generation acceleration, and A/B testing model development
- Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities in campaign performance data; proactively surface insights to stakeholders
- Contribute to ETL pipeline development and data quality initiatives using tools like Alchemy
- Document methodologies and socialize findings through written narratives (6-pagers, flash reports)
A day in the life
Your main focus is turning marketing data into clear answers. Most mornings, you’ll check dashboards to see how campaigns perform, dig into anomalies, and share findings with the marketers running those campaigns before they even ask. You’ll write SQL against large datasets to deep dive and do root cause analysis—connecting top of funnel metrics to revenue impact. You’ll partner with teams to translate their questions into structured analytical plans, and use AI tools to automate reporting, validate data, and speed up your workflows. When something interesting surfaces, you won’t wait to be asked—you’ll bring it to the table.
