About the role

The Market & Business Intelligence Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting DLA Piper's strategic initiatives. This position focuses on conducting extensive research on current and potential clients, analyzing search results, compiling reports, and providing insights to enhance the firm's competitive edge.

Responsibilities

  • Identify market trends, industry developments, client movements, and other relevant client news to inform the firm's marketing and business development efforts.
  • Conduct thorough research on current and potential clients using web sources and internal data to identify cross-selling opportunities and target areas for legal services.
  • Analyze search results, compile reports, and provide executive summaries to support the firm's business development and competitive advantage initiatives.
  • Assess the firm's clients, prospects, key industries, and competitors, and identify new markets for expansion.
  • Support client pitches and prepare necessary information for responding to Request for Proposals (RFPs).
  • Contribute to the development of a robust global competitive intelligence research and business analysis team by suggesting innovative ideas and utilizing specialized tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills

  • Strong analytical skills to gather, analyze, and interpret various data.
  • Knowledge of the legal market and competitors is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of staff.
  • Experience using AI for research purposes.
  • Proficiency in data gathering and analysis, including organizing and manipulating data in Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to extract insights and produce recommendations from market and client research.
  • Competency in data management and visualization tools such as Power BI and Alteryx.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Market Research, Business Analytics, Business, Library Services, or a related field.
  • 3 years’ experience in marketing research or knowledge services.

Physical Demands

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Work Environment

The individual selected for this position may have the opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement comprised of remote and in-office work, the requirement for which will be determined in coordination with the hiring manager or supervisor and may be modified in the firm’s discretion in the future.

The firm’s expected hiring range for this position is $80,348 - $117,111 per year depending on the candidate’s geographic market location. The compensation offered for employment will also be dependent on other factors including the candidate’s experience, skills, educational and professional background, and overall qualifications. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits, including medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
