Business Analyst 4

About the role

Ampcus Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst with 5+ years of IT project experience to support enterprise software and application initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong requirements gathering, process analysis, Agile and Waterfall delivery experience, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex business processes and IT systems, identifying root causes and recommending effective solutions.
• Gather, document, and validate business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
• Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and requirements elicitation sessions.
• Create and manage Agile artifacts including Epics, Features, User Stories, Tasks, Test Plans, and Test Cases using Azure DevOps (TFS).
• Develop process documentation, flowcharts, swim lane diagrams, wireframes, and Visio diagrams.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and business teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Support both Agile (Scrum/SAFe) and Waterfall project methodologies.
• Assist with System Integration Testing (SIT) and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Support system implementations, user adoption, and change management initiatives.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and project documentation for technical teams and executive leadership.
• Facilitate discussions, resolve conflicts, negotiate priorities, and manage stakeholder expectations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Business Analyst experience supporting IT software/application projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with enterprise applications and databases such as Oracle and SQL Server.
• Working knowledge of SQL, APIs, and data flow diagrams.
• Experience gathering and documenting business and system requirements.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (TFS) for Agile project management.
• Experience creating process flows, swim lane diagrams, flowcharts, and wireframes using Visio or similar tools.
• Experience working in both Agile (Scrum/SAFe) and Waterfall environments.
• Strong verbal, written, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Experience supporting system rollouts and user adoption.
• Experience with System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on enterprise-scale digital transformation or government IT projects.
• Familiarity with change management and business process improvement initiatives.

Skills

• Expertise in Agile Business Analyst; Strong understanding of Scrum concepts and methodologies - Required 5 Years
• Well versed with Scrum and Agile, Scaled Agile and Kanban methodologies - Required 5 Years
• Technical experience in organizing and maintaining sprint and product backlogs - Required 5 Years
• Technical experience translating client and product strategy requirement into application requirements and user stories - Required 5 Years
• Documenting high level Test Strategy, Test Plans, Test Cases and execution of test cases - Required 5 Years
• Potential to analyze and document business and system processes - Required 5 Years
• Prior State of VA IT Business Analyst Experience - Strongly preferred
• Highly desired to have a strong understanding of multi tiered applications - Required 5 Years
