About The Role
We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Business Administrator Apprentice. This role will give you the chance to gain valuable experience while working towards a Level 2 Business Administration qualification. You will contribute to the smooth running of the Employment and Skills Hubs, supporting a service that makes a real difference to people’s lives across Gloucestershire. You will be part of a supportive team that values learning, development, and collaboration, helping you build the skills and confidence needed for a successful career.
The Administration Assistant Apprenticeship is a 12 month programme designed to support individuals entering employment while developing the essential knowledge, skills and behaviours required for a successful career in administration. The programme includes a 10 month structured training period, during which apprentices build core administrative skills through a combination of on-the-job learning and guided training. This is followed by an Apprenticeship Assessment period where apprentices showcase their learning to successfully achieve the apprenticeship. This apprenticeship provides a strong entry route into employment, equipping apprentices with practical, workplace-ready skills in areas such as communication, organisation, time management, customer service, IT systems and professional working practices that are transferable across sectors. By the end of the programme, apprentices will have developed the knowledge and experience to contribute effectively to an administrative role and progress into a permanent role or onto further training and career development opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality administrative support to the Employment and Skills Hub team
- Maintain accurate and secure records in line with data protection requirements
- Support the organisation of meetings, events, and engagement activities
- Respond to enquiries from young people, partners, and stakeholders in a professional manner
- Assist with data input, monitoring, and reporting processes
- Support outreach and engagement work within the community
- Ensure effective filing and document management systems are maintained
- Contribute to continuous improvement and team objectives

Qualifications
Essential: GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) or willingness to achieve Functional Skills as part of the apprenticeship
Desirable: Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
