About the role

The Business Development Manager at Mercy is responsible for generating measurable growth in assigned strategic geographic areas and/or service lines, commercial or ancillary services that enable exceptional service and care at an affordable price to healthcare consumers within the Mercy geographic (and virtual) footprint.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and execute business development strategies to drive revenue growth
  • Analyze and interpret complex data and information to inform strategic planning and decision-making
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement marketing and sales initiatives
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers and consumers
  • Develop and manage sales pipelines, prioritize opportunities, and close deals
  • Present business development plans and strategies to various levels of leadership and stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare or business administration or advanced equivalent certification required
  • 7-10 years sales experience, with a strong track record of delivering results at or above plan
  • Experience in analyzing and interpreting complex data and information in a planning and decision-making process
  • Health system strategic planning &/or business development experience, or pharmaceutical sales experience preferred

  • Confirmed sales/business development experience
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to effectively interact with a wide range of external audiences and organizational levels
  • Comfort with daily CRM/PRM usage as a pipeline and activity management/prioritization tool
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Financial background a plus
  • Strong conceptual thinking skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • High degree of integrity and moral character
  • Ability to focus on desired outcomes and prepare specific business development and/or operational plans
