About the role
The Business Development Manager at Mercy is responsible for generating measurable growth in assigned strategic geographic areas and/or service lines, commercial or ancillary services that enable exceptional service and care at an affordable price to healthcare consumers within the Mercy geographic (and virtual) footprint.
Responsibilities
- Generate and execute business development strategies to drive revenue growth
- Analyze and interpret complex data and information to inform strategic planning and decision-making
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement marketing and sales initiatives
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers and consumers
- Develop and manage sales pipelines, prioritize opportunities, and close deals
- Present business development plans and strategies to various levels of leadership and stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare or business administration or advanced equivalent certification required
- 7-10 years sales experience, with a strong track record of delivering results at or above plan
- Experience in analyzing and interpreting complex data and information in a planning and decision-making process
- Health system strategic planning &/or business development experience, or pharmaceutical sales experience preferred

- Confirmed sales/business development experience
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills (written and oral)
- Ability to effectively interact with a wide range of external audiences and organizational levels
- Comfort with daily CRM/PRM usage as a pipeline and activity management/prioritization tool
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
- Financial background a plus
- Strong conceptual thinking skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- High degree of integrity and moral character
- Ability to focus on desired outcomes and prepare specific business development and/or operational plans
