About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Bulk Cryogenic Distribution Manager to lead our Beaumont-area operations. This high-impact leadership role is ideal for someone with expertise in transportation, CDL driver management, routing, dispatch, safety, and regulated bulk operations. You will ensure our drivers, equipment, and customers operate safely and efficiently while meeting the highest compliance and service standards.
Responsibilities
- Routing & Dispatch
- Plan and optimize daily and weekly delivery routes based on customer demand, inventory, delivery windows, driver availability, vehicle capacity, and Hours-of-Service requirements.
- Assign loads and routes to CDL drivers and communicate schedules, changes, and special delivery instructions.
- Monitor deliveries throughout each shift and respond to delays, equipment issues, weather, road closures, emergencies, and product shortages.
- Coordinate with production plants, terminals, maintenance, customer service, and sales teams.
- Monitor tank telemetry, customer usage, and inventory levels to prevent runouts and improve delivery efficiency.
- Coordinate emergency, after-hours, weekend, and holiday deliveries as needed.
- Continuously improve route density, loaded miles, asset utilization, and on-time delivery performance.
- Driver Leadership
- Supervise, coach, schedule, and evaluate CDL drivers.
- Lead daily dispatch meetings and communicate safety priorities, route assignments, and operational updates.
- Monitor attendance, productivity, driving performance, documentation, and compliance.
- Coordinate driver onboarding, orientation, ride-alongs, recurrent training, and qualification records.
- Manage vacation requests, call-offs, overtime, staffing, and shift coverage.
- Investigate service failures, spills, product losses, accidents, near misses, and policy violations.
- Partner with Human Resources on coaching and corrective action when necessary.
- Build a culture of safety, accountability, professionalism, and exceptional customer service.
- Safety & Compliance
- Enforce company safety standards and applicable DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, hazardous-material, and environmental regulations.
- Ensure compliance with CDL qualifications, Hazmat and tanker endorsements, medical certifications, Hours-of-Service, ELD requirements, and drug/alcohol testing programs.
- Ensure drivers follow proper cryogenic product-handling, loading, unloading, pressure-control, grounding, parking, PPE, and emergency-response procedures.
- Maintain accurate driver qualification, inspection, training, shipping, and delivery records.
- Review vehicle inspection reports and coordinate timely repairs and corrective actions.
- Support audits, inspections, incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Reinforce stop-work authority and ensure unsafe deliveries are postponed or appropriately escalated.
- Fleet & Operational Management
- Coordinate tractor, tanker, trailer, and delivery-unit availability with maintenance teams and service providers.
- Monitor preventive maintenance, breakdowns, out-of-service equipment, and vehicle readiness.
- Track operating costs, overtime, fuel usage, empty miles, demurrage, product loss, and delivery efficiency.
- Develop contingency plans for severe weather, plant outages, equipment failures, driver shortages, and customer emergencies.
- Ensure permits, registrations, inspections, placards, emergency equipment, and vehicle documentation remain current.
- Identify opportunities to improve safety, productivity, reliability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of transportation, dispatch, logistics, or fleet-management experience.
- Experience supervising CDL drivers in bulk hauling, hazardous materials, industrial gases, fuel, chemicals, or a similar regulated operation.
- Working knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, Hours-of-Service, ELD, and hazardous-material transportation requirements.
- Strong route-planning, scheduling, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage urgent operational issues in a 24/7 delivery environment.
- Experience with transportation-management, routing, dispatch, telematics, ELD, and Microsoft Office systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Class A CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements.
- Experience with cryogenic liquids, industrial gases, medical gases, or bulk tanker operations.
- Familiarity with customer tank telemetry and automated route-planning systems.
- Experience conducting accident investigations, safety training, or DOT compliance audits.
- Experience managing transportation budgets and operational performance reporting.
Work Environment
- Hands-on operational leadership role requiring work in an office, dispatch center, plant, terminal, vehicle yard, and customer-site environments.
- Rotating on-call coverage, including nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency response.
- Local and regional travel to terminals, customer sites, and incident locations.
- Exposure to heavy vehicles, pressurized systems, cryogenic products, and industrial equipment.
- Work in changing weather conditions.
- Wear required personal protective equipment and follow site-specific safety requirements.
