Distribution Manager
About the role
The Distribution Manager oversees the operational activities of the Distribution Center, including warehousing, transportation, and physical distribution of finished goods to customers. The role requires providing high-level customer service and managing operational costs efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Establish and submit an annual operating budget for the department.
- Select, hire, train, and evaluate personnel to ensure optimal service and productivity.
- Evaluate employee performance against key measurements and initiate corrective action.
- Maintain close working relationships with customer service, inventory control, transportation, production, and sales personnel.
- Oversee the daily operations of shipping, receiving, storage, and handling of all finished goods, raw ingredients, and packaging products.
- Determine that warehouse equipment and labor are deployed properly to meet required service levels.
- Review warehouse productivity measurements and establish standards for acceptable levels of performance.
- Ensure the facility is maintained in compliance with federal, state, and local agency guidelines and company procedures.
- Establish and maintain an ongoing employee relations program through strong communication with associates.
- Actively support initiatives and programs as mandated by corporate.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Warehousing, Transportation, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in distribution center operations, including people leadership experience.
Qualifications
- Financial acumen, including budget management and analysis.
- Proficiency with computer systems and applications, including Windows, MS Office (Excel, Word, MS 365), AS-400, and RF locator systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in personnel administration within a distribution center environment.
- Working knowledge of distribution, warehousing, and transportation operations.
- Customer service experience with an understanding of service-related procedures.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to lead and collaborate with team members, fostering cooperation and engagement.

Pay
Salary Base Range of $83,167.00 - $107,409.75*
Schedule
Typical shifts are 8-12 hours per day. Additional unscheduled time after hours and on weekends may also be required.
Physical Demands
All jobs require sufficient physical strength and dexterity to perform the required tasks and typically also require at a minimum: intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
