Building Support Technologist II
Overview
The role leads the building technology team by prioritizing tasks, scheduling maintenance, communicating with staff, and continuously seeking opportunities to improve IT services and support. The role collaborates proactively with users to understand their needs and resolve IT issues efficiently. It involves collaborating with team members and utilizing available resources, including documentation and system tools, to solve problems and achieve objectives. The role serves as the onsite IT expert, responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining AV, telecom, computer equipment, and instructional/administrative software. It provides excellent customer service by resolving user issues promptly and efficiently, escalates complex issues to appropriate teams, and builds positive relationships with end-users through timely and effective communication.
Functions
- Prioritizes and executes multiple technical tasks while managing concurrent activities.
- Collaborates proactively with users to understand their needs and resolve IT issues efficiently.
- Utilizes available resources, including documentation and system tools, to solve problems and achieve objectives.
- Serves as the onsite IT expert, responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining AV, telecom, computer equipment, and instructional/administrative software.
- Provides excellent customer service by resolving user issues promptly and efficiently.
- Escalates complex issues to appropriate teams to ensure timely resolution.
- Buils positive relationships with end-users by providing timely and effective communication through ticket updates, email notifications, and in-person interactions.
- Performs system administration tasks to ensure data security and integrity, including user provisioning, access control, password management, and system monitoring.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date inventory records of IT assets.
- Supervises none.
Qualification
- High School diploma or GED and sixty credit hours of college level classes (technical classes related to computer technology is a plus).
- Two years of experience in the support and maintenance of personal computers, printers, and print servers in an enterprise network environment.
Physical Demands
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: moderate lifting (no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds), carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; some stopping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling. Generally the job requires 30% sitting, 35% walking and 35% standing.

- Prioritizing and executing multiple technical tasks while managing concurrent activities.
- Flexibility in working and communicating with a variety of individuals and/or groups with varied cultural and educational levels.
- Proficient writing and verbal communication abilities and strong interpersonal and customer service skills required.
Education And Experience
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Sixty credit hours of college level classes (technical classes related to computer technology is a plus).
- Two years of experience in the support and maintenance of personal computers, printers, and print servers in an enterprise network environment.
Terms Of Employment
- 260 days per year
- 8 hours per day
- Full benefits, vacation days and 12 paid holidays

$24.84-29.80 based on experience
Additional Compensation
