Building Library Specialist - Hourly

About the role

The Gibson D. Lewis Health Science Library supports the education, research, patient care, and community service missions of University of North Texas Health Fort Worth (UNTH) by meeting the information needs of faculty, students, staff, and the local health sciences community.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates with library staff regarding open and closed work orders.
  • Creates signage for building patrons to convey closings or other issues.
  • Liaises with facilities and custodial - meeting regularly with custodial to cover cleaning issues of the library.
  • Collates building statistics.
  • Conducts space surveys.
  • Sets cleaning days each year to take care of cleaning not covered by custodia.
  • Provides building reports to Library Administration.

  • Experience with managing library spaces.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications.
  • Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:
    • Ability to work independently with strong adaptability and flexibility.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Creative problem-solving and willingness to bring new ideas to the table.
    • Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, and other student workers.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Experience with managing library spaces, strong attention to detail and organizational skills, strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications, knowledge, skills and abilities including ability to work independently with strong adaptability and flexibility, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, creative problem-solving and willingness to bring new ideas to the table, ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, and other student workers, adaptability and enthusiasm for learning new tools and trends, reliability, professionalism, and ability to meet deadlines, comfort working in an academic environment.

Skills

  • Ability to create reports in a logical manner.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).

Pay

$24.00/hour FTE: .48

Schedule

Part-time with a maximum of 19 hours per week. All work will occur Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, with some flexibility regarding exact days and times within these traditional business hours.
