Examples of Duties

  • Moves and arranges furniture and A/V equipment to set up rooms for meetings and special functions.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing of hard floors, under bleachers, facility restrooms, auditorium floors, seats, windows, fixtures, mirrors and carpets.
  • Empties trash and stocks supplies, etc.
  • Operation of cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor machines, buffers and carpet extractors.
  • Removes litter and debris from facility walkways and grounds.
  • Supervision and securing of facility.
  • Uses standard office equipment, including a computer, in the course of work.
  • Drives City vehicles to work sites, transports materials and assists other staff as required.
  • Provides customer service.
  • Demonstrates courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with contractors, public and City staff.

Qualifications

  • Education And Experience: Equivalent to a High School education or GED Professional cleaning experience is helpful Hospitality industry experience is helpful Certificates, Licenses, And Registrations: Varies by Department. All required licenses and certifications must be maintained in active status without suspension or revocation throughout employment.

  • Conditions Of Employment: Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation.
  • Part-time employees are limited to working no more than 1,039 hours in any fiscal year, July 1 through June 30. Part-time employees are not eligible to receive paid leave (including pay for not working on holidays), PERS retirement, or medical/dental/vision/life insurance.
  • Nevada does not have a state income tax. Part-time employees do not contribute to social security; however, they must contribute 7.5% of their gross pay into a FICA Alternative Plan and are also responsible for paying the 1.45% Medicare tax.
  • Part-time employees are covered under the City’s worker’s compensation program.
