About the role
As the Buffet Ambassador, properly greet and acknowledge guests in a friendly and welcoming manner when entering the buffet room. Responsible for monitoring and maintaining the hot and cold buffet stations by upholding quality standards, sanitation, and food safety. Serves guests with a professional, friendly, and positive attitude, prioritizing guest requests. Acts as a front-line ambassador for the department, possessing full knowledge of buffet items, contents, and recipes while representing a high standard of excellence. Your attention to detail, sense of urgency, and knowledge of our outstanding Food & Beverage offerings make guests feel unique and valued.
Hourly Rate: $26.19
Responsibilities
- Check buffet stations for necessary equipment and set up: ice, dishes, utensils, ensuring all stations are operational, music is on at an appropriate volume, prior to the opening of the restaurant.
- Assist guests regarding buffet items in an informative and helpful way.
- Maintain and clean buffet stations and utensils, replenishing as needed.
- Expedite all buffet food replenishments from the main kitchen to the Kea Lani buffet room, following presentation standards.
- Ensure temperatures of all hot and cold items in the buffet room meet the proper standards for consumption based on the State of Hawaii and EHC (Environmental Health Consultancy) food handling safety regulations.
- Maintain consistent communication with the kitchen team to ensure timely replenishment of food items.
- Ensure overall cleanliness and maintenance of the buffet exceeds expectations.
- Adhere to LQA, State of Hawaii, and EcoSure food handling safety standards.
- Organize time to complete all side work according to shift demand.
- Maintain an atmosphere of aloha spirit by providing engaging, personalized, timely, and efficient service to guests.
- Focus on anticipating guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in Food & Beverage is an asset.
- Previous experience in a luxury hotel environment is desirable.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to read and write to facilitate communication.
- High School diploma (or equivalent) and/or vocational training is an asset.
Requirements
- Tuberculosis (TB) Clearance required.
- Food Safety Certification or ServSafe Certification required.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States (no sponsorship provided).

Schedule
Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees are required to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays, to accommodate business demands.
