About the role

The Budget/Fiscal Officer II serves as the lead financial officer for Kansas State University Salina, responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating financial operations that support the campus’s mission, strategic priorities, and operational goals. The position provides leadership and oversight for financial management, budgeting, resource allocation, compliance, and business processes. The Budget/Fiscal Officer II works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective stewardship of resources, operational efficiency, and alignment with institutional policies and strategic objectives. This position reports to the CEO and Dean.

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial operations for Kansas State University Salina.
  • Direct budgeting, resource allocation, and financial compliance.
  • Oversee business processes and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align financial practices with institutional policies and strategic goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Eight years of relevant experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License upon employment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
  • All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

Qualifications

Education beyond the minimum degree requirement may count toward required experience if deemed relevant by the hiring manager.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field highly preferred.
  • Experience with state, government, or higher education finances.
  • Experience with contracts and purchasing in public institutions.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds and educational experiences.

Pay

Anticipated hiring pay range: $95,903 - $115,000. Salary offers are commensurate with experience and education.
