About the Role
We are hiring a Breakfast Host to join our team at the Hampton Inn Carolina Beach. This is a first shift position with early morning hours, finishing around noon. Shifts are available 7 days a week, including weekends.
Pay
$14-15.00 per hour, plus a quarterly bonus plan and 401k with employer match. Option to be paid daily through DailyPay.
Responsibilities
- Offer prompt and courteous service to ensure guests have an enjoyable experience.
- Maintain cleanliness and guest-ready appearance of the breakfast outlet.
- Prepare and consistently maintain the dining area and supplies in a guest-ready atmosphere.
- Close out shift by cleaning and restocking supplies for the next day or shift.
- Maintain safety and security practices, including knowledge of emergency procedures.
- Ensure guests are provided with the highest quality product and service.
- Complete brand standard documentation as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned, provided the associate is capable.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Food Handling certification (preferred).
- Prior experience in a food and beverage position (preferred).
- Must be able to perform major life activities: standing, lifting, bending, learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, and communicating.
- Must be able to push or pull 60 pounds unassisted and lift and/or carry 30 pounds unassisted.
- Must be able to stand for eight hours, bend, stretch, and reach.
- Must be able to see and hear, and communicate with other associates and guests.
Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of menu items, beverage choices, and brand standards of operation.
- Familiarity with area shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions to assist guests.
- Understanding of daily hotel operations, including events, procedures, and property details.
- Service-minded, friendly, and professional behavior.
- Ability to suggest and serve quality food and beverage items as per standards.
- Multi-tasking while remaining guest-service centric.
- Effective communication with guests, department heads, associates, and support staff.
- Professional problem-solving for guest issues while maintaining a hospitable attitude.
- Ability to work as a team member in cleaning, side work, food preparation, and storage.
Working Conditions
- Physical presence at the hotel is required; remote work is not an option.
- May be required to work weekends to greet guests and ensure satisfaction for meetings or groups.
- Standing and walking for long periods while maintaining a friendly, professional image.
- Flexible work schedule, including availability for weekends, holidays, and as needed (24/7).
