About the Role
The Breakfast Hostperson is responsible for offering prompt and courteous service so guests have an enjoyable experience. This role also maintains the cleanliness and guest-ready appearance of the outlet.
Character traits of honesty and trustworthiness are essential, as associates have access to guestrooms and property. Potential associates must pass appropriate security clearances per company policy.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and consistently maintain the dining area and supplies in a guest-ready atmosphere.
- Close out shift by cleaning and restocking supplies for the next day or shift.
- Maintain safety and security practices, including thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.
- Ensure guests are provided with the highest quality product and service.
- Complete brand standard documentation as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned, provided the associate is capable.
- Multi-task while remaining guest-service centric.
- Effectively communicate with guests, department heads, associates, and home office support staff.
- Solve guest issues professionally while maintaining a hospitable attitude.
- Work as a team member in cleaning, side work, food preparation, and storage.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Food Handling certification preferred.
- Prior experience in a food and beverage position is preferred.
- Must be able to perform major life activities: standing, lifting, bending, learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, and communicating.
- Must be able to push or pull 60 pounds unassisted and lift and/or carry 30 pounds unassisted.
- Must be able to stand for eight hours, bend, stretch, and reach.
- Must be able to see and hear.
- Must be able to communicate with other associates and/or guests.
Skills & Knowledge
- Knowledge of menu items and beverage choices.
- Familiarity with brand standards of operation.
- Awareness of area shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions to assist guest inquiries.
- Understanding of daily hotel operations, including checking daily events and updating bulletin boards on changes, new procedures, and events.
- Knowledge of the entire property, staff, services, hours of operation, room types, locations, rates, and discounts.
- Service-minded, friendly, and professional behavior.
- Ability to suggest and serve quality food and beverage items as per standards.
Working Conditions
- Physical presence at the hotel is required; not conducive to telecommuting or remote work.
- May be required to work weekends to greet guests and ensure meeting or group satisfaction.
- Standing and walking for long periods while maintaining a friendly professional image.
- Flexible work schedule, including availability as necessary 24/7, weekends, and holidays.
Pay
$15.00 per hour
