Braze Assembly C-A

About the role

Based in South Windsor, CT, the Braze Assembly C will perform essential job functions associated with heat treatment under the direction of the Braze Manager to meet customer specifications, including assisting other employees as needed. This position is safety-sensitive due to the nature of our business and a heavy industrial market.

Under general supervision, you will be responsible for the preparation of customer parts for brazing according to written requirements and specifications. This role is critical for the care and treatment of our customers’ inventory, requiring duties to be performed in a safe and responsible manner to prevent loss or damage.

This position is eligible for a $1,500 sign-on retention bonus. Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical and must be able to work full-time, 40+ hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Receiving and inspection of customer parts for brazing.
• Preparation of customer parts for brazing according to blueprints and specifications, including cleaning and assembly.
• Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.
• Works in a manner consistent with the Environmental Management System (EMS).
• Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
• Reports for work on time, follows directions, interacts effectively with co-workers, understands and follows rules and procedures, and accepts constructive criticism.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0-2 years of experience in brazing.
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
• Must be able to wear safety equipment as required.
• Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with computer applications including Microsoft Office and databases.
• This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; therefore, candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder.

Physical & Mental Demands

• Ability to work in a sitting position for extended periods in an office/industrial environment.
• Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
• Ability to bend, pull, stoop, climb, twist, and reach to perform functions.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
• May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity.
• Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
• Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, and files.
• Ability to hear in person and via phone.

Pay

The hourly pay range for this position is $22-$27 per hour. Starting pay is determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications. This position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with state and federal law. This role is also eligible for additional compensation, including shift differential.

Schedule

Full-time, 40+ hours per week. The hours for this position are either:

• Monday-Thursday, 4 pm - 2:30 am, or
• Tuesday-Friday, 4 pm - 2:30 am.
