About the role
Seeking an individual to provide a wide variety of mechanical assembly operations on electro-mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies. This position requires skilled mechanical hand work and/or the use of automated production equipment. The individual will work with hand soldering components (wires, terminals, PCB through hole and mount).
Responsibilities
- Operate various types of manufacturing equipment (air drivers/drills, rivet guns, sanders, drill presses, etc.) with proper training.
- Preparation and application of various adhesive materials using a scale.
- Soldering of wires, terminals, splices, PCB through-hole & PCB surface mount components IAW J-STD-001 & IPC-610.
- Work with small hardware components (screws, rivets, washers, nuts) and hand tools.
- Inspect components and subassemblies for obvious defects prior to, during and after assembly.
- Check completed assemblies for conformance with quality standards.
- Maintain assembly & quality records/paperwork as required.
- Communicate statuses and issues to the Assembly Manager.
- Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced, flexible production environment.
- Work overtime as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
Skills
- J-STD-001 soldering certification
- Experience in a manufacturing assembly environment
- Mechanically inclined
- Basic computer navigation skills
Pay
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York (Greater NYC area) is $22.84 - $42.55. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
Schedule
9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days—totaling 80 hours worked—and have every other Friday off.
