About the role
This role performs a variety of electronic and electro-mechanical assembly tasks in a Repair and Overhaul environment. The position requires reading and interpreting technical documents, work instructions, engineering guidance, and blueprint specifications. Responsibilities include wiring, component installation, hand soldering, and cable harnessing. The role may also train less experienced team members and support process improvement efforts to enhance quality, cost, and schedule performance.
Responsibilities
- Prior solder experience required in a manufacturing environment; J-STD certification a plus
- Use basic hand tools and fixturing
- Use PPE appropriate to the use of chemicals and protection from other hazards
- Lift at least 32 pounds
- Read and interpret work instructions, assembly drawings, and shop orders
- Communicate with operations team to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures
- Understand general manufacturing and repair processes
- Identify assembly process improvements to support cost savings initiatives
- Ensure timely and accurate entry of data into SAP ERP system
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience, or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience
Preferred Skills
- Experience in a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) environment
- J-STD-001 solder and IPC-610 inspection certification
- Experience in a Manufacturing environment
- Aerospace and Defense experience
- Process Improvement experience
- Critical thinking and analytics
