About the Role

Master Halco - The Deck Superstore is a one-stop shop with everything in stock for deck projects, including decking, railing, framing, foundation, hardware, lights, and architectural lumber. We are seeking a Branch Manager for our Commerce City, CO location. This role is ideal for candidates with a proven track record in managing sales and operations teams in a showroom and production environment, particularly with experience in decking, railing, outdoor structures, and building materials such as metals, woods, plastics, and hardware.

Our branch leaders are results-oriented problem solvers who handle multiple tasks and motivate teams to perform at their peak. The Branch Manager will implement a business strategy focused on profitability through sales growth, effective cost control, and operational excellence, with full Profit & Loss responsibility and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets.
  • Supervise workers engaged in receiving, storing, testing, and shipping products or materials.
  • Interview, select, and train warehouse and supervisory personnel.
  • Plan, develop, or implement warehouse safety and security programs and activities.
  • Prepare or direct preparation of correspondence, reports, and operations, maintenance, and safety manuals.
  • Issue shipping instructions and provide routing information to coordinate delivery times and locations.
  • Review invoices, work orders, consumption reports, or demand forecasts to estimate peak delivery periods and issue work assignments.
  • Inspect physical conditions of warehouses, vehicle fleets, or equipment and order testing, maintenance, repairs, or replacements.
  • Respond to customers' or shippers' questions and complaints regarding storage and distribution services.
  • Develop and document standard and emergency operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, shipping, or salvaging products or materials.
  • Develop or implement plans for facility modification or expansion, such as equipment purchase or changes in space allocation or structural design.
  • Examine products or materials to estimate quantities or weight and type of container required for storage or transport.
  • Arrange for storage facilities when required.
  • Develop or implement plans for storage and distribution activities.
  • Assume full Profit & Loss responsibility, including planning, budgeting, forecasting, and expense control.
  • Maximize sales and profit growth while properly managing company assets.
  • Hire, teach, coach, and retain high-quality personnel.
  • Support employees by providing good working conditions, equitable pay programs, and ongoing career development.
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals.
  • Effectively communicate company goals and objectives to Distribution Center staff.
  • Work with Distribution Center staff to establish goals and objectives.
  • Maintain a high level of quality control at all levels within the Distribution Center.
  • Maintain positive customer and vendor relations.
  • Recommend product selection and pricing levels for local markets.
  • Keep the company informed of local market and competitive conditions.
  • Develop effective inter-department communications and working relationships within the company.
  • Review bills of lading for incoming merchandise and customer orders to plan work activities.
  • Establish operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of merchandise, and warehouse inventory.
  • Coordinate activities of the distribution warehouse with sales, record control, and purchasing departments to ensure merchandise availability.
  • Direct reclamation of damaged merchandise.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Skills & Abilities

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: 2+ years in a related field.
  • Computer Skills: Knowledge of Internet software, inventory software, spreadsheet software, order processing systems, and word processing software.
