About the role

Quality Inspector III are experienced inspectors who perform complex manual inspection tasks and train other inspectors in proper use of tools, print reading, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). They demonstrate proficiency with advanced tools such as optical comparators and profilometers, work with minimal supervision, and may supervise or guide the work of other inspectors.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify supplier-provided paperwork for correctness and completion.
• Perform visual inspection of parts, checking for completeness, damage, and foreign objects.
• Conduct dimensional verification of parts using basic hand tools (calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, thread gauges) and advanced tools (optical comparators, profilometers).
• Complete inspection reports and other required paperwork.
• Verify tool calibration prior to use.
• Act as an example to the rest of the plant in procedure use, rule compliance, and cleanliness.
• Provide guidance and clarification of work to less-experienced inspectors.
• May supervise or direct the work of other inspectors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (minimum education level).
• Three or more years of prior inspection experience.
• Basic computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Thorough understanding of print reading and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Attention to detail, organization, and strong work ethics.
• Ability to train and guide less-experienced inspectors.

Skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and common Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Outlook, Teams).
• Ability to read, understand, and draft technical instructions.
• Ability to analyze and interpret defect conditions.
• Decision-making ability based on incomplete data.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.

Physical Demands

• Ability to move items up to 50 lbs.
• Required to pass an annual eye examination.
• May require extended periods of sitting or standing.

Work Environment

The work environment is on the production floor, including both climate-controlled and non-climate-controlled areas.
