Boyd Thermal by Eaton - Production Associate
The Production Associate performs a variety of tasks involved in the manufacturing of thermal and heat exchange products. This includes leak testing, painting, degreasing, and assembling components.
About the role
Boyd Thermal's Niagara Falls, NY location specializes in handcrafting precise thermal solutions for aerospace and defense customers. This position is for 1st shift (7am-3pm).
Responsibilities
- Performs core assembly functions in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Reads and follows blueprints, worksheets, or other instructions to handle and assemble various components used to craft cores for heat exchangers
- Leak testing process to identify any welding flaws, cracks, and/or leaks in heat transfer units
- Assembles, paints, or modifies units as required per work instructions
- Uses industrial degreaser to degrease various metal components
- Inspects and records quality requirements of finished workpieces
- Maintains and reports inventory quantity count
- Ensures work area is kept clean and organized at all times
- Reports any possible problems or areas of improvement
- Utilizes small hand tools for assembly and cleaning
- Wears PPE as required by assigned department and/or task (respirator, etc.)
- Performs data entry and record data on computer and by hand
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Basic qualifications: Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw and apply valid conclusions
- Regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work hours required to support operations
- Must be a U.S. Person within the meaning of ITAR
- Basic high school diploma or equivalent
- Prior related work experience (1+ years) preferred
- Ability to use micrometers and calipers preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints preferred
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals preferred
