Boyd Thermal by Eaton - Production Supervisor
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will plan, schedule, and execute production flow in a fast-paced manufacturing plant. Directly supervise 30-40 employees, including hiring, training, and annual evaluations. Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork to meet organizational goals. Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and HVAC, brazing, charging, electrical mechanical assembly, and testing is essential.
Responsibilities
- Direct priorities and daily activities of assigned personnel through effective communications.
- Create and lead a continuous improvement culture focused on eliminating defects through robust root cause and corrective action activities.
- Lead innovations to current processes to achieve world-class, industry-leading manufacturing.
- Manage objectives and priorities for the manufacturing team and deploy resources to support production.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance to prevent product and tooling/fixture issues.
- Use effective management and communication skills to build a cohesive team capable of meeting daily objectives.
- Monitor quality and production performance, adjusting plans to meet forecasts.
- Report metrics on Scorecards and provide daily/weekly reports as required.
- Plan and manage factory resources, reporting daily/weekly KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with Boyd policies detailed in the employee handbook.
- Plan and manage factory equipment and assets to meet production schedules.
- Manage EH&S practices to ensure a safe work environment and OSHA compliance.
- Qualify direct reports, evaluate training effectiveness, and update qualification matrices.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
Requirements
- BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering or Engineering Technology (10 years’ experience preferred).
- Supervisory experience (5-10 years preferred).
- Ability to respond to and prioritize manufacturing operation issues as they arise.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with employees, the public, and vendors.
- Daily contact requires courtesy, discretion, and sound judgment.
- Advanced PC skills using Microsoft Office software and strong presentation skills.
- Good written communication and organizational skills.
Skills

- Knowledge of manufacturing processes in HVAC, assembly, wiring, and testing.
- Knowledge of Manufacturing Quality and Product/Process Development.
- Knowledge of warehousing and efficient material delivery processes.

- Intermediate (advanced preferred) knowledge of Lean methodologies (TPM, 5S, Visual Factory).
- Intermediate knowledge of building mechanical and electrical systems.

- Advanced knowledge of EH&S and OSHA requirements.
- Management and leadership experience.
Work Environment
This role operates in a manufacturing assembly and machining environment with constant communication across Assembly, Machining, Material Control, Quality, and Engineering groups. Routinely uses computers, smartphones, and Oracle business software systems. The employee must be available or on call and is regularly required to talk and hear.
Pay
Base compensation: $80,000–$100,000, bonus eligible.
