Production Supervisor
About the role
We're looking for a dependable, hands-on Production Supervisor who enjoys leading teams and takes pride in supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality food production. In this role, you'll oversee daily production across assigned production lines, kitchen, and oven areas, ensuring production goals are achieved safely, accurately, and on schedule. You'll provide day-to-day leadership to production employees and team leads while helping build a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
- Lead and supervise production employees across assigned production lines, kitchen, and oven areas.
- Set daily priorities and direct staffing and workflow based on the production plan.
- Monitor employee time, attendance, performance, and productivity.
- Coach and develop team leads to strengthen day-to-day leadership and team performance.
- Support onboarding, training, and development of new and existing employees.
- Monitor production schedules, staffing, labor efficiency, and department KPIs to ensure targets are achieved.
- Ensure employees follow established safety, GMP, food safety, PPE, quality, and operational procedures.
- Conduct and support visual quality checks and address production or quality issues as they arise.
- Troubleshoot operational challenges and coordinate solutions to minimize production disruptions.
- Maintain accurate production documentation and prepare reports using Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Partner closely with FSQA, Maintenance, Warehouse, and other departments to support efficient operations.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
What You Bring
- Minimum 4 years of direct supervisory experience in manufacturing production, including responsibility for leading production employees.
- Experience working in a fast-paced food production or food manufacturing environment.
- Strong people leadership, coaching, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing production KPIs, labor efficiency, staffing, and performance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Basic math and analytical skills.
- Working knowledge of food safety, GMP, and workplace safety requirements.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cold manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work the 1:00 a.m. production shift and flexibility for overtime and schedule changes based on production needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in chilled or refrigerated food production.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
- HACCP, Food Handler/ServSafe, Culinary Arts, CCP, or related food safety training/certification.
Working Conditions
This position works in a cold food manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and production noise. Employees must follow all safety requirements and wear required PPE. The role requires prolonged standing and walking and frequent bending, reaching, crouching, pushing/pulling, and other physical activity associated with a production environment. Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds may be required.
Pay
$70,000–$90,000
