Box Machine Attnd Labor PR02 2nd Shift/MSC/Full Time/Humboldt Plant, TN

Job Synopsis

Loads unformed boxes into the box machine and ensures proper feed to the scale packing lines. Grabs a stack of unformed boxes, loads them into the box erector, pulls formed boxes off the conveyor, and stacks them to build a buffer during machine downtime. Places damaged boxes aside for collection. Two attendants are stationed at each box machine, with a third moving among the five slides that convey boxes to the scale packing lines, ensuring the lines remain full. Communicates with scale packers to determine box production requirements (full cases or half). May be responsible for setting up and/or breaking down the machine.

Responsibilities

• Load unformed boxes into the box erector.
• Ensure proper feed of boxes to the scale packing lines.
• Pull formed boxes off the conveyor and stack them to create a buffer.
• Separate damaged boxes for collection.
• Maintain full box supply on the scale packing lines.
• Communicate production needs between scale packers and box machine attendants.
• Assist with machine setup and breakdown as needed.

Work Environment & Safety

Processing environment with moving equipment, exposure to noise, moisture, and refrigerated conditions. Required personal protective equipment (PPE) includes hearing protection, mesh glove and arm guard on the non‑knife hand, slip‑resistant footwear, hairnet, and required protective clothing.

• Perform warm‑up exercises.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings.
• Store knives in a holder before leaving the workstation.
• Never reach into operating equipment.
• Follow all Tyson Foods safety policies.

Requirements

• 180‑day wait period from last termination date.
• 3X rule: candidates cannot have worked for Tyson three times before.
• Relocation assistance not available.
• Background check required for certain roles.

Pay

$17.45 per hour plus an additional $2.00 per hour shift differential.
