Bookkeeper
About the role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team in Denver, Colorado. This role is vital in managing financial records and ensuring accuracy across accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax compliance. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, possess strong organizational skills, and have a proactive approach to improving processes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and issue client invoices, monitor receivables, and maintain timely follow-ups to ensure payments are collected.
- Process vendor invoices, review for accuracy, and schedule timely payments to avoid penalties.
- Perform daily banking tasks, reconcile accounts, and prepare weekly payment proposals.
- Manage bi-monthly payroll processes, including calculating wages, handling deductions, and maintaining compliance with regulations.
- Ensure accurate tax filings, including corporate, excise, and income taxes, as well as 1099 forms.
- Organize and maintain financial records both digitally and physically to guarantee proper documentation for audits.
- Generate financial reports and assist in preparing documentation for audits.
- Address employee payroll inquiries while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
- Support administrative tasks such as data entry, meeting coordination, and maintaining office supplies inventory.
Qualifications
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to improving processes are essential. Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel is required, along with a solid understanding of accounting principles and payroll procedures. Experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment is preferred.
