Body Shop Estimator
Description

They carry a large selection of new and previously owned commercial trucks and offer a full suite of maintenance and repair services. As a Body Shop Estimator at GTG Peterbilt, you will play a crucial role in assessing vehicle damage, determining repair costs, and coordinating with insurance companies and customers.
Requirements
- Project management to include tracking parts, status updates, and maintaining schedule.
- Examine damaged vehicles to determine the extent of damage related to the incident.
- Estimate cost of labor and parts to repair or replace each damaged item.
- Review repair cost estimates with body shop manager or foreman.
- Determine feasibility of repair versus replacement of parts.
- Prepare insurance forms to indicate repair cost estimates and recommendations.
- Coverage coordination with insurance companies and customers.
- Estimate cost of repainting, converting to special purposes, or customizing undamaged vehicles.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and communication skills with staff, customers, and insurance providers.
- Organized and able to track multiple projects at one time.
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair and estimating software.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Education and/or Experience
A high school diploma or general education degree (GED), combined with two to four years of related experience and/or training, is preferred. A combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is also acceptable.
