BITOVI: BACKEND DEVELOPER CONSULTANT

About the role

Bitovi is seeking a Backend Developer Consultant to join their team in transforming technology delivery. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating exceptional applications and contributing to collaborative, validation-driven, and swift technology delivery.

Responsibilities

• Consult and manage projects with clients to build outcome-driven applications
• Guide clients through the application building process, identifying potential problems and unknowns
• Tackle challenges faced during project implementation
• Travel an average of 3-5 days every quarter
• Teach and present at conferences, attend and give training, plan and run meetups or local groups, and create various kinds of content in your expertise

Requirements

• Strong working knowledge of a major backend programming language (Go, Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, C#, etc)
• Experience with cloud deployments and management (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, etc)
• A thorough understanding of CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with observability techniques – including logging, metrics, and tracing
• Understanding of handling complex scaling issues, concurrency, and tiered caching strategies
• Developed modern, microservice-based or serverless web applications
• Database schema design and development expertise

Other Skills We Value

• Interest in working in multiple major backend programming languages (Go, Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, C#, etc)
• Experience deploying and maintaining production, and enterprise applications to a Kubernetes cluster
• Experience with a durable execution framework or workflow management solution such as Temporal, Apache Airflow, or Prefect
• Understanding of queueing and messaging technologies such as AWS SQS/SNS, Kafka, or RabbitMQ
• Experience with authentication and authorization and related technologies (sessions, API tokens, JWTs, etc)
• Automated testing experience (unit and integration testing, performance testing and benchmarking)
