Backend Developer
Responsibilities
- Lead complex technical discovery and solution design with partner and enterprise teams, defining the integration strategy and scope for new and existing integrations.
- Owning end-to-end integrations for partners and sellers, coordinating cross-functional teams and managing risk, dependencies, and timelines from kickoff through launch.
- Serve as the primary technical liaison and escalation point, advising clients on architecture and implementation for APIs and ensuring integrations are robust and scalable.
- Standardize and maintain onboarding patterns, documentation, and validation approaches to ensure reliable, high-quality integrations and to scale best practices across the organization.
- Lead high-severity troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for integration issues, driving durable fixes and preventive improvements rather than one-off remediation.
- Drive cross-functional improvements to integration processes, tools, and frameworks, and measure their impact on speed, quality, and partner outcomes.
- Act as a recognized SME for connectivity topics, shaping integration standards, KPIs, and best practices, and leading business and technical reviews with senior leaders.
- Mentor and coach peers and junior team members on integration practices, tools, and stakeholder communication, contributing to the overall capability and maturity of the team.
- Lead the 3PP consulting program evaluating integration quality, identifying key drivers of seller performance, and delivering data-driven recommendations that improve platform compliance, partner standards, and GMV outcomes.
Requirements
- 7-10+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Engagement Management, Implementation, Client Onboarding, or a related technical client-facing role, including leading complex, multi-stakeholder integration or deployment programs.
- Hands-on experience using GraphQL, SOAP/XML, and REST/JSON (or equivalent technologies) in real-world integration scenarios.
- Demonstrated program/project management skills, including managing multi-workstream initiatives, risk/issue management, and stakeholder communication across technical and non-technical teams.
- Strong understanding of HTTP/HTTPS protocols and web services.
- Technical expertise in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of software with an emphasis on integration patterns, APIs, and data exchange.
- Proven experience in client relationship management, including influencing senior technical and business stakeholders, managing expectations, and navigating ambiguity to successful outcomes.
- Solid understanding of File Transfer Protocol (FTP) and related client software, and how these fit into hybrid integration architectures.
- Hands-on experience using Postman or similar API testing tools.
- Hands-on experience using Jira or similar ticketing systems to coordinate cross-team work and track delivery.
- Working knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM platforms, including how to track onboarding activities, pipeline, and health metrics.
- Exceptional ability to communicate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders in technical, operational, and commercial roles, adjusting level of detail and framing to ensure understanding and alignment.
Pay Transparency
The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $66.00 - $66.43 /hr. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience.
