Bistro/ Café Attendant

About the role

We are seeking a Bistro Attendant to join our award-winning team at Suburban Inns. This position offers flexible scheduling, including part-time to full-time options, and weekend availability. The starting wage is $15 per hour, plus tips.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve Bistro food and beverage items, including alcohol, according to local health department, Suburban Inns, and Marriott standards.
• Clean and maintain the Bistro area, including wiping tables, cleaning window sills, cleaning table bases, filling salt and pepper shakers, cleaning floors, and rolling silverware.
• Take room service orders and deliver them to guests.
• Ensure accuracy of orders and verify guests' IDs before serving alcoholic beverages.
• Present bills accurately and handle cash and credit card transactions according to standard operating procedures.
• Report any complaints promptly and take charge of resolving issues.
• Pre-bus tables, dishwash, and assist others during shifts.
• Break down and store leftover products properly.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
• Support the Bistro Supervisor in maintaining security and safety in the kitchen.
• Set up and break down Bistro and board room services.
• Adhere to local health and safety regulations and read and execute BEOs (Banquet Event Orders).
• Requisition items needed to produce menu items.
• Follow all Suburban Inns processes and exhibit high standards of hygiene.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in food service or hospitality preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills.
