About the role

This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of a variety of mechanical, electronic, and electromechanical medical devices and patient support and transport equipment. The Clinical Engineering Technicians support all medical equipment from Walnut Creek, CA to Auburn, CA.

Requirements

  • Valid California driver's license
  • Practical experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of clinical equipment in a healthcare environment
  • Mechanical, electromechanical and electronic skills
  • General knowledge of medical equipment
  • Ability to communicate with staff and vendors regarding equipment issues

Qualifications

  • Biomedical Equipment Technician Certificate from an accredited college AND/OR Hands-on Training
  • Completed Biomedical Internship at a hospital facility/surgery center
  • Minimum of six months Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) work experience or equivalent biomedical training/volunteer internship
  • Preferred: Certified Biomedical Technician (CBET)
  • Associates Degree in Electronic Technology
  • One-year Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) work experience preferred

Skills

Required skills include mechanical, electromechanical and electronic skills, ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics, perform electrical, electromechanical and mechanical assembly and repair, general knowledge of medical equipment, and ability to communicate with staff and vendors regarding equipment issues.
