Biomedical Equipment Technician I

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance, repairs and calibrations of laboratory equipment.
• Maintains documentation of service performed in accordance with requirements outlined by licensing and accreditation agencies.
• Maintains a physical inventory of key equipment repair parts.
• Aids in preparing the location for new equipment, ensuring all necessary requirements for proper operation are met.
• Installs and tests new equipment to ensure proper working condition.
• Aids in instructing laboratory personnel on the proper use of instruments.
• Aids in maintaining calibration equipment used on laboratory equipment.
• Aids in coordinating outside service requirements to ensure timely repairs.
• Aids in monitoring work performed by outside service organizations.

Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and at times assist Biomedical Engineers in moving equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred).

Pay and Schedule

• Pay range: $20.90+ per hour.
• Shift differential: 10% for some or all hours worked on second shift and 15% for some or all hours worked on third shift.

Schedule

• Tuesday to Saturday, 12:00 AM to 8:30 AM.
