Responsibilities

  • Performs preventative maintenance, repairs and calibrations of laboratory equipment.
  • Maintains documentation of service performed in accordance with requirements outlined by licensing and accreditation agencies.
  • Maintains a physical inventory of key equipment repair parts.
  • Aids in preparing the location for new equipment, ensuring all necessary requirements for proper operation are met.
  • Installs and tests new equipment to ensure proper working condition.
  • Aids in instructing laboratory personnel on the proper use of instruments.
  • Aids in maintaining calibration equipment used on laboratory equipment.
  • Aids in coordinating outside service requirements to ensure timely repairs.
  • Aids in monitoring work performed by outside service organizations.

Requirements

  • Physical and Mental Requirements: Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs and at times assist the Biomedical Engineers in moving equipment.
  • Skills: Excellent oral communication skills. Requires a logical thought process, accountability, physical dexterity, and the ability to clearly/effectively communicate with team members and lab personnel outside the department.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent (Preferred)

Pay and Schedule

  • Pay range: $21.42+ per hour
  • Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
  • Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.
