Biomed Technician

The Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) 2 maintains and repairs clinical equipment with minimal supervision, utilizing the Medical Equipment Management Plan. Responsibilities include performing installation, calibration, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on biomedical and related systems, ensuring equipment functionality and safety. Candidate must have a strong understanding of clinical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, and demonstrate troubleshooting skills for medical devices, including radiological and network systems. They oversee departmental projects, mentor BMET 1 technicians, and support direct patient care with equipment repairs and maintenance. Qualifications include certification as a Certified Associate or Biomedical Equipment Technician within a year, a related associate's degree or equivalent experience, and a valid driver’s license. Excellent communication, customer service skills, and the ability to solve service issues independently are essential.
