Biomed Technician

Specific Responsibilities

• Willingness to attend Manufacturer training on variety of equipment
• Perform repairs on a wide variety of biomedical & respiratory equipment
• Stay current with new products and new technologies in the biomedical industry
• Perform PM’s, as needed
• Teach and mentor Associate Biomed Techs to improve their technical ability
• Act as liaison to our customers to solve technical problems and complaints
• Identify training needs for self
• Participate in department on call rotation when needed
• Affirm service area is clean and orderly
• Affirm accurate database entry and reports

Minimum Qualifications

• Typically requires 1+ years of related experience
• Strong demonstrable technical troubleshooting ability
• Experience or diverse knowledge on related medical devices within service scope of McKesson biomedical service
• Broad knowledge base of various hospital / homecare medical equipment
• Excellent customer communication skills
• Computer literate with an understanding of database operations
• Understanding of and ability to operate specialized test equipment used on medical equipment
• Working knowledge of electronics, electricity, electro-mechanical, fluidics, pulmonology, pneumatics and hydraulic theories and practices
• Strong work ethic and focus on quality work
• Strong work ethic and focus on quality work
• Must be organized
• Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel
• Strong attention to detail, ability to maintain focus with intermittent distractions
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Professionalism and a mature sense of accountability
• Willing to perform other duties and tasks as directed by Biomedical leadership

Minimum Requirements (internal Applicants Only)

• Must be flexible and willing to work all shifts as business needs require
• Willing to work in any relevant department if required
• Associate must be in their current position for 1 year
• Associate must not have more than a verbal warning for attendance
• Associate must not be on a final warning for any disciplinary category
• Any disciplinary actions related to Standards of Workplace Behavior will be reviewed for indicators of the candidate’s ability to take ownership of their actions and contribute to a positive work environment
