Biology - Full-Time, Temporary, Non-Tenure Track Visiting Assistant Professor

Position Overview

Visiting faculty are employed by the university to teach or perform research for a limited time. This is a non-tenure track, temporary position. Service or research may be expected.

College/Department Overview

The College of Mathematics and Science currently has 129 full-time and over 70 part-time faculty in 5 academic departments and the Schools of Engineering and Nursing. The College serves more than 3,300 undergraduate students in 30 majors and provides graduate programs in Biology, Computer Science, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, Applied Mathematical Science, Engineering, Computational Science, and Nursing. Accreditation/Certification is held by ABET, the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), the American Board of Funeral Service Education, and the American Chemical Society. Department Specific Duties And Responsibilities

• Primary areas of teaching responsibility include undergraduate and graduate physiology courses, majors and nonmajors introductory biology courses, and other courses as needed.
• Prefers candidates with expertise in aquatic systems.

Experience/Education Required

• Ph.D. in Biology or related field required.
• Demonstrable oral and written communication skills required.
• Experience teaching and directing research at the undergraduate level preferred.

Experience/education Preferred

• Experience teaching Biology courses at the undergraduate level.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty and staff.

Reports to the Chair of the Department and the Dean of the College.
