About the Role

The Billing Standardization Manager is responsible for executing and supporting Stallion’s standardized billing operations across designated locations, with a strong focus on accurate, timely invoice execution and consistent application of established billing standards. This role supports the rollout, adoption, and ongoing execution of standardized billing processes, working closely with Operations, Finance, Sales, and IT to ensure billing activities align with operational execution and financial requirements. The Manager plays a key role in monitoring billing performance, resolving escalations, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives, while contributing to—but not owning—enterprise billing strategy and dotted-line performance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day billing execution for new locations and assigned existing markets.
  • Ensure invoices are generated accurately and on time in accordance with established billing standards.
  • Support the resolution of complex, high-risk, and exception-based billing scenarios, escalating as appropriate.
  • Reinforce consistent billing practices across assigned locations.
  • Implement and support standardized billing processes defined at the enterprise level.
  • Maintain and update SOPs, workflows, and billing documentation to reflect current practices.
  • Support contract readiness activities to ensure billing accuracy and compliance.
  • Execute established onboarding playbooks for new locations and support operational readiness.
  • Monitor billing performance metrics and support reporting related to:
    • Invoice timeliness
    • Billing accuracy
    • Credit and rebill activity
    • Billing-related impacts to DSO
  • Perform audits and reviews to identify process gaps or execution issues.
  • Recommend and implement corrective actions within assigned scope.
  • Partner with Finance and Operations to resolve billing discrepancies and performance variances.
  • May directly manage part of the Billing Standardization team and/or assigned billing staff.
  • Support staffing plans, workload balancing, and capacity management for assigned scope.
  • Lead onboarding, training, and day-to-day coaching of billing personnel.
  • Set clear performance expectations and support employee development.
  • Foster a collaborative, execution-focused, and service-oriented team culture.
  • Act as a key operational contact for billing-related system usage and enhancements.
  • Partner with IT on system testing, configuration feedback, and deployment support.
  • Collaborate with Operations leaders and Office Managers to align service execution and billing outcomes.
  • Partner with Sales and Central Sales teams to ensure billing aligns with executed customer agreements.
  • Coordinate with Finance to support revenue recognition, audits, and financial controls.
  • Support automation and system optimization initiatives as directed.
  • Support change management, user adoption, and training for billing process or system enhancements.
  • Serve as an escalation point for billing issues within assigned scope, escalating enterprise-level risks as needed.
  • Act as a billing subject matter resource for field and office teams.
  • Deliver standardized training materials, reference guides, and ongoing coaching.
  • Promote adoption of best practices and continuous improvement across locations.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of billing operations, revenue processes, and basic financial controls.
  • Working understanding of Quote-to-Cash workflows.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and process-improvement skills.
  • Ability to execute cross-functional initiatives and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Effective people leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Experience working with ERP/CRM systems (e.g., RentalMan, Oracle, Salesforce).
  • Proficient Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Ability to travel to locations across the U.S. up to 40–50% based on business needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5–7 years of experience in billing, finance operations, or revenue support roles.
  • 2–4 years of people leadership or team lead experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with RentalMan (preferred).
  • Experience supporting standardized, centralized, or shared-service billing functions.
  • Industry experience strongly preferred.
