Responsibilities
- Aid the billing team in setting up matters according to client guidelines.
- Create and distribute pre-bills in line with firm policies.
- Edit and finalize invoices, ensuring compliance with billing guidelines and collecting backup documentation.
- Send invoices to clients via email, fax, or e-billing hub, as required.
- Contact insurance contacts and attorneys to address invoice rejection issues.
- Draft appeals for billing website reductions and communicate with leadership on these matters.
- Collaborate with leadership on retainer, flat fee, or alternative fee agreement matters.
- Support the conflicts team with conflict checks as needed.
- Update billing software following client updates, such as changes in e-billing sites, carriers, and third-party administrators.
- Add new timekeepers and rates to applicable client websites and manage deactivations.
- Participate in accounts receivable projects and work with leadership to resolve collection issues.
- Assist leadership with attorney/on-center onboarding/off-boarding.
- Complete project-based tasks as directed by leadership.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED is required; an associate’s degree or higher is preferred.
- At least 2-10 years of legal experience are required, with 1-3 years of billing experience, preferably in an insurance defense law firm.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, ProLaw, Excel, and e-document management software is preferred.
- The candidate should be self-motivated, possess excellent time management and organizational skills, and have strong communication abilities.
- The position requires working independently in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $35,000-$70,000, reflecting C&W's good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
This is a remote position, but applicants must be within 75 miles of a C&W office. The work schedule is 8am-4pm EST, with occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
