Bilingual Patient Services Representative - Dental

About the role

This position is responsible for timely and accurate recording of patient demographics, insurance information, patient charges and payments. Cross training required in multiple administrative support functions including medical records, scanning, PHI request and messaging to both clinical and non-clinical staff.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with individuals of all cultures and levels of authority by answering phones or face-to-face greeting
  • Schedule patient appointment under guidelines of administration
  • Problem solve and have critical thinking skills
  • Explain policy and procedures to patients and staff
  • Interview patient to obtain personal and financial information
  • Understand and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Utilize PMG System: Schedule patient appointments
  • Update patient demographics & Insurance Post copays
  • Query for patient financial records
  • Utilize EMR System: Update patient records
  • Scan documents into patient charts in a timely manner
  • Query patient information
  • Extract Medical records for PHI request
  • Patient Message provider/staff
  • Accurately manage cash transactions

Requirements

  • Must be able to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to read and understand the English language
  • Effective maintenance of confidentiality of records and communication with all levels of personnel
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to interact with individuals of all cultures and levels of authority
  • Ability to function as part of a team
  • Initiative

Qualifications

  • One year of clerical experience in medical office setting required
  • Knowledge of medical office software for the following: updating patient demographic information, posting charges and copays
  • High School Diploma or GED certificate required
  • Basic medical terminology required, knowledge can be obtained through formal classes or work experience

Skills

  • Proficient in use of all computer software utilized in practice

Pay

The salary range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
