About the role
The Institute for the Redesign of Learning (IRL) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Adult Instructor to join our Transitions & Adult Services team. This full-time (35 hrs/week) role offers the opportunity to help clients build independence and life skills through engaging lessons and community experiences—all while working alongside a supportive, mission-driven team.
Responsibilities
- Teach daily living and vocational skills in classroom and community settings
- Provide individualized and group instruction, supervision, and support
- Transport clients to volunteer sites and community activities
- Track and report client progress using Google Drive and Class Dojo
- Collaborate with your team and adjust to program needs as they evolve
Requirements
- High school diploma (Associate’s degree or college coursework preferred)
- Spanish speaking
- Experience or interest in working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Strong communication and technology skills (Microsoft Office, Zoom, etc.)
- Valid CA driver’s license, auto insurance (100/300k liability), and clean background
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
