About the role

The Carmel program has a total of 6 male individuals residing in the home. Their ages range from 32 to 70. Five individuals are high functioning but require verbal prompting, while one individual is wheelchair bound and has some independence but still relies on staff assistance.

Responsibilities

• Cooking meals
• Changing sheets and making beds
• Dividing clean laundry for individuals to pack away
• Shaving individuals
• Assisting with showering and dressing the wheelchair-bound individual
• Cleaning the house

Activities

• Watching movies
• Going on outings (e.g., restaurants, malls)
• Arts and crafts
• Playing video games
• Enjoying outdoor time on the patios
• Tending to the vegetable garden during spring and summer

Individual needs

• Some individuals have mild autism, sleep apnea, seizure disorder, OCD, and ADHD
