About the Role
The Training Instructor delivers engaging, effective instruction using a variety of teaching methods, including presentations, lectures, hands-on activities, partner exercises, student-led presentations, group activities, and other instructional techniques used at Ace University.
Responsibilities
- Uses multiple training techniques including presentation and lecture, hands on practices, partner member presentations, group presentations by students and other effective instructional methods in the Ace University Training Programs.
- Uses classroom technology and instructional equipment effectively.
- Develops a lesson plan for each course to ensure all learning objectives are addressed.
- Delivers established curriculum clearly and effectively to groups of varying sizes.
- Creates a positive learning environment that encourages student involvement, participation, and collaboration.
- Prepares, demonstrates, and facilitates hands-on laboratory exercises related to the curriculum.
- Operates and provides hands-on training on Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) equipment in accordance with manufacturer instructions, company policies, and applicable safety requirements.
- Evaluates student understanding and provides constructive feedback as needed.
- Maintains accurate and complete training records, including attendance, assessments, course completions, and other required documentation.
- Follows established document-control procedures to ensure training materials and records are current, accurate, properly stored, and readily accessible.
- Consistently follows, teaches, and enforces all company safety policies and procedures.
- Maintains an organized, professional, and safe classroom and laboratory environment.
- Completes other duties as assigned and seeks assistance or clarification when needed.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: Two years of related electrical, construction, or training experience preferred.
- Apprenticeship: Completion of a U.S. Department of Labor–registered electrical apprenticeship program preferred.
- Certifications: OSHA 10 - Construction completed within the last 4 years required.

- Ability to maintain accurate records and follow established document-control procedures.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with varying levels of knowledge and experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of the National Electrical Code.
- Knowledge and understanding of electrical theory.
- OSHA10/30, MEWP Certifications, NFPA 70 E Training, CPR Certified.
- Ability to safely operate and train other on MEWP equipment.
- Ability to effectively operation computers, presentation software and other classroom technology.
Required Physical/Mental Functions
- Comprehend and practice safe work procedures as outlined in Company Safety Handbook.
- Read and interpret instructional manuals and written instructions.
- Must hear and see well (either natural or with correction).
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, push, pull and reach overhead.
- Able to lift objects weighing up to 30 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Tolerant to prolonged sitting.
- Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
